CHRISTMAS LETTER FROM ANTO.

Hello Parents and children
This Thursday (December 23rd), I am going home to Ireland for Christmas.
I love Christmas.. in Ireland we celebrate it on the 25th of December (Christmas Day). Santa Claus comes on the night of the 24th and we open presents on Christmas morning. We have a big dinner with turkey and ham and for dessert we have Christmas pudding (made with Guinness!).
There is a lot of snow in Ireland now and it's very very cold.

In English we like to say 'Happy Christmas' or 'Merry Christmas' but in Irish we say 'Nollaig Shona Duit' (pronunciation= /nolig hona diech/).
In Ireland, our favourite Christmas songs are 'Silent Night, Holy Night' and 'Fairytale of New York' (look for them on youtube).

Merry Christmas everyone and Happy New Year!
